What is happiness?
I have spent my short life looking
At what people think make them happy.
But I focus on the word "think" because
Many people don't really ask themselves
What really makes them "happy"; they
Depend on what their culture tells
Them is supposed to bring happiness…
And then ask themselves why they
Don't "FEEL" this elation or exuberance.Instead, their heightened achievement
Turns into an apathetic lead anchor
Dragging them down further.Can it be that most people are just
Wrong about what true happiness is?
Can it be that only the individual can truly
Know how to manage that faculty?
Are we so self absorbed into this illusion
Of bliss that our glance into the mirror
Is just that…a façade of innumerable
Empty truths and misplaced glamour.
When no one is looking, it's only
You who has to answer to your soul.
You are the sole determiner of that
Judgment, so why not of your actions too?Don't pick up the pieces when it's all over.
Assemble them in your order to start out with
And the pieces will fit the life you built for yourself.
