Today I received another poem by Ryan Jake from New York. Your comments on any of his work is most welcome by both Ryan and this site. - poetheart 06/22/00
Sometimes I don't know where to start
I try to get by in doing my part
But sometimes I don't know what's expected of me
I don't know my calling - that's the key
And life seems to get tougher with each passing day
Sometimes I'm lost and can't find my way
Right now it's with you that I'm troubling over
Reaching to you is like finding a four leaf clover
At first I thought you felt the same
But I soon found myself playing this game
I asked you out, but I didn't get a straight answer
And now the wait is eating away like cancer
I know you are struggling so I want to take my time
But if I wait for you, what will I find?
You seem to be drifting, farther and farther away
I'd ask you why but I don't know what to say
Should I let go even though the feeling lingers?
Knowing once again, love has slipped through my fingers?
I've been hurt so much, I could write a book
And now when I see you, I can't look.....
