"The Inner Process"

This is Paul's most recent contribution to my poetry pages.  - poetheart 05/04/02

No matter how hard I try,
There is still a lonely place in my mind.
A place that can never be filled with answers.
It's a part that often asks so many questions
As it ponders the thoughts and thinking of
Others. It realizes that it can take in only
As much as it can see, hear, and feel,
And possibly go even a little beyond,
But it will truly never be able to see
The deepest parts of another person; those
Parts that just don't come out.

It wonders if you think the way it does. Do you
Capture the images in the same light and
Feel the same feelings? Do you ask the same
Questions...to yourself? Do the images in
Front us mean the same thing and do
You know where you are going? Do you see
Things about me that I can't even see about myself?
That part of my mind limps through the day,
Filling in the blanks on its own, trying to attach meaning
Where it can. It knows there are other worlds out
There, but it lays there on its own wondering
What is in those worlds.

A mind, as a shelter, keeping its processes
And ideas inside…wondering where the
Blame for this circumstance shall fall…
