This poem was written by Paul earlier this year. - poetheart 12/28/01
I went through the day again
I did not realize all that I learned
Perhaps I didn't pay attention enough
To the details all around
Shouting at me to drink the knowledge
Out of the cup that earth sits in
Don't hold yourself back
And be content with where you are
Harness the strength and believe
That the mountains you climb
Are the ones you create in your mind
For your own purposes
And self-preservation
For the growth that you realize
Is only possible by the obstacles you
Choose to confront
And those barriers, while tall at times,
Become pillars by which you can see
For eternity
So at the end of the day, rest your weary
Eyes and empty your mind of all that doesn't
Belong...hum a song of silence and
Let your mind rest to prepare...
