I wish I could see the petals fall from
Tomorrow’s flowers
I wish I could see their lofty flight as they
Reach their resting place on the frosty grass
I wish I could look up to see their paths
And think their dreams
Just as their smallest disturbance
Allows a spectral view of the surroundings
For if my water had reached their colorful skin
Perhaps their flight would have been grounded…or not
I wonder if the sun’s radiance would have
Perched their delicate beings
Or if the strong roots just quivered
Capturing the never ending beams, perhaps
I should have paid more attention to
Shadows looming from the treetops above, for this
Flower lay there in the thick
I could have been there to rescue it
But for now, I surmise nature will know that answer
As its seeds, covered by the colors, paint a
Picture for me to imagineby Paul Papasavas
