"Sanctuaries of our Souls"

This is Paul's most recent poem.  Paul was the September, 2002 featured poet on my site. To read his interview, go to the interview section.  - poetheart 10/19/02

Alas, the nightingale sings a
Delicate song only to the
Ambience, and perpetuates
Through reflective imaginations;

If not only to turn from oblivion
But to thrash at fields of lies
And stare blindly into streaks of light.

Dare you to overcome this spry moment
And fathom an alliance with the song,
But this tender passion seems in
Congruence with my thoughts.

Oh nightingale, leave me with but your
Pleasant song for you’re all I can hear.
