The title of this poem is truly appropriate. I was so moved by this poem that I posted it without the slightest hesitation. Paul's genuine candor and competent ability to express himself is well demonstrated with this submission. - poetheart 02/17/02
I suppose I should listen to you
Everyone proclaiming you're not true
Not worth a cent and not for a thought
Most people will tell me you're just
An emotion…something that won't last
Nothing you can live with
And something you have to live withoutBut I tell you tonight and forever
You are the magic that few see
You defy the greedy norm
And help me to look past
What rages in othersYou're the water and air
That lift my soul
To a cosmic elevation
A place most can't fathom
And at the lonely times
I look to you for my answers
The ones I cannot reason
I look to you to remove the anger
And you have carried me through
With footsteps of your own
You have wrapped your arms around
And gently touched my soul
You have colored all that was gray
And revealed a peace that exists nowhere
I don't know how I can repay you
Or thank you for your foundation
But to keep on listening
